THE OVAL PORTAIT.  ----summary 

According to the story the title of the story is the OVAL PORTAIT. It means the figure in a oval shape. The writer of the story is Edgar Allan Poe. His birth was on 19 Jan 1809 and death on 07 Oct 1849. He was an American writer, poet, literary critic and editor. He was known by his stories. 

The original title of the story is life and death. It is on the basis of gothic horror. Gothic mean a European story from 12 era-16 era. It was first published on gram magazine. The date of published is 1842 April. In this story relation between life and art is shown. 

In this story one unkown building was mentioned. It was in mountain range of center Italy. The oval picture was the topic of the story. And this portait was showing blind live and art blindness. The main theme of the story to show the relation between art and life. 

The story is started as below:

The two man were in front of unknown palace of mountain range of center Italy. And the main speaker got injured. Next his servant, Pedro. There is not mentioned the name of main speaker. When they reached to the building, the speaker wasn't well. And the servant take him to a room in order to not to sit outside in environment without any permission because the speaker was serious. When they reached the room the room was full of materials. No one was on the room so the room was a colorless with so many colors. There were a art designed in walls, trophy in the room.

After seeing that the speaker watch the picture on the room. On the way he got more interested on picture. He ordered his servant to close all windows and doors at a room. An the Pedro turn on the light and close all doors and windows. After watching the picture before sleeping the speaker found the book. There were full of description of all pictures on that books. Speaker start reading the book and Pedro got asleep. At the mid night when candle shadow disturb him to reading he change the position of candle. At that moment, a light from corner of the room reflects to the pictures kept in another corner of room. The portrait picture was of girls. It was in oval shape. According to picture, the girl was new groom. When he watch the picture carefully he became ashamed. The head, solider and neck of portrait attract to speaker. He re-opened the book and watch again the portrait and he began to search the history of portrait.

The husband of the girl was a famous artist. The artist love her wife very much. He came to know that the artist wish to make picture of his wife. And she gave the permission. While making painting she was smiled. He takes many days to make the picture. He was making the picture deeply research, so he need many days. His wife became weak and I'll by sitting in a chair for a week. She never shared her health condition to her husband. Because she is happy by seeing smile on her husband face. He closed himself and wife to a room for a week for zero disturbance. He never realize that his wife was sick. When he finally made picture after shading on a eye corner and mouth, he started shouting that she is dead. He continues cry by seeing his wife. She was dead.
