Schools within the Kathmandu Metropolitan Region, which have been closed for a long time due to Covid-19, will not be reopened immediately. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City Education Department has reached such a conclusion after discussions with the officials, experts and district security chiefs of the district disaster management center on Wednesday.
Rajeshwar Gyawali, Chief Administrative Officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, who participated in the discussion, reminded that schools are close in many foreign cities due to Covid-19 till now.In the context of Nepal ,Cases of Covid-19 is not totally finished.He said that the situation of Covid-19 was not under control in Kathmandu and Suggest to not to hurry."Don't be in a hurry".
Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Kali Prasad Parajuli, also said that it is winter season now and it will be better to open online classes only after some time. "It is winter now and there would be a holiday at this time". He said. "The health ministry has said that 50,000 antigens test will be done in the valley in January alone. In the meantime, it seems appropriate to make online classes more effective."
He said that it would be a problem for the children to follow the health standards themselves.
Conclusion:
It means that colleges in Kathmandu are not going to open immediately.
