Scotland becomes first to say sanitary pads free to all citizens.
On Tuesday, 24th Nov ,Scotland government passed a bill announcing to make all menstrual products free all over the country.
" The Period Products Free Act" was passed by the Scottish Government unanimously making it compulsory for all the public and the government institutions to provide free menstrual period products to all the necessary citizens for free of cost.
First Scotland Minister, Nicola Sturgeon supported the movement and also felt proud while voting for the favour of bill in the parliament making this decision a historic declaration for favour of all the women and girls citizen ever brought.
This movement was started 4 years ago by a labour member, Monica Lenon from the local level and paved its success step when the bill was first introduced in parliament in April 2019 with a goal to eliminate the menstrual povert .Lenon when the bill was passed sent a video message to the parliament stating that It marked a proud day for Scottish and a universal signal to the world that free universal access to the menstrual products can be achieved.
